Pre-Treat the Wood
Professional-grade cleaner loosens oxidation, algae, and grime before any water hits it.
Wash With the Grain
Low to medium pressure, always with the grain, no furring or lap lines.
Rinse the Area
Work area and everything around it rinsed clean, so residue doesn’t harm nearby landscaping.
Brighten & Rinse
Finished with a wood brightener, then a final rinse to complete the job.

Pre-Treat the Wood
It’s a dedicated wood-cleaning chemical, not the same soft wash mix we use on siding or roofs, formulated specifically to lift oxidation and grime out of the wood grain without damaging the fibers.
Wash With the Grain
It’s wand-only work the whole way through. Wood needs direct hand control to stay consistent with the grain, so we don’t run a surface cleaner across it.
Rinse the Area
Nearby landscaping and adjacent surfaces get rinsed along with the wood itself, so cleaner residue doesn’t sit and damage plants or leave stains on concrete or brick close by.
Brighten & Rinse
A wood brightener is applied to restore the wood’s natural tone, then everything gets a final rinse to complete the job.

Getting the wood truly clean is also the required first step before any stain or sealer will bond properly.

How do you clean wood without furring it or leaving wand marks?
We pre-treat with a professional grade wood cleaner, then wash at medium pressure moving with the grain and never stopping mid-board, which is what leaves lines. A post-treatment brightener evens out the color afterward.
Will cleaning strip the stain off my deck or fence?
A wash removes mildew, gray oxidation, and any failing surface layer. Sound stain underneath normally survives. If the stain is already peeling, cleaning is the prep step before it gets re-coated, and we will tell you which of the two you are looking at before we start.
How often do fences and decks need this in The Woodlands?
Every 1 to 2 years here. Shade and humidity grow mildew on the north and east faces first, the same reason north-facing siding goes green.
Can you do the deck and the surrounding concrete on the same visit?
Yes, and most customers do. Adjacent concrete, driveways, and walkways and the pool deck are usually washed on the same trip. A deck or fence typically takes 2 to 4 hours.
